[Cornelius Goggin, Dublin, Ireland] Rare Irish Hand Carved Bog Oak Book Slide. The adjustable base with allround Laurel Leaf decoration and a central split carving depicting a view of a Church or Abbey (Muckross Abbey, Killarney?). Two hinged folding bookends, one carved depicting an Irish Celtic Cross, the other as an Irish Harp surrounded by shamrocks. Ireland, 19th Century. Folded dimensions: c. 53 x 18 x 4 cm / Expanded dimensions: c. 76 x 18 x 21 cm. Excellent condition. See images.
