Rare Irish Hand Carved Bog Oak Book Slide. The adjustable base with allround Laurel Leaf decoration and a central split carving depicting a view of a Church or Abbey (Muckross Abbey, Killarney?). Two hinged folding bookends, one carved depicting an Irish Celtic Cross, the other as an Irish Harp surrounded by shamrocks.

Red or red speckled edges (faded). Very good condition. Binding rubbed and bumped. Some mild staining. Top edge appears to be trimmed (see title page), not affecting text or Plates. Names of previous owners on front free end paper. Overall a very nice copy.
