Uniform contemporary tree calf. Red morroco spine labels with Author and Title in gilt. Black spine labels with volume numbers (missing for volume 1). Gilt line decorations. Green tinted edges. Very good condition. Bindings rubbed and bumped with minor material losses to spine tops (see images). Edges and end papers dust dulled. Name of previous owner inscribed on front free end paper in both volumes (see images). Internally bright and clean. A very nice set.

Fifth Dublin Edition, 1793 of Smith’s masterpiece, “the first and greatest classic of modern economic thought” (PMM), following its first publication in 1776.
