Bindings rubbed and bumped with minor material losses to spine ends and corners. Joints weak, but bindings remain sound. Ex Libris ( ‘Ursuline Convent St. Joseph’s Sligo’) on front paste downs of both volumes. Various inscriptions on first blank pages of volume 1. Library stamp (‘Tullabeg College’) on both title pages. Edges and end papers dust dulled. Two small paper stickers on spines. Overall a very nice set.

Very good condition. Binding rubbed, bumped and weak! Front board barely connected. Front joint and hinge open. Would benefit from rebacking or rebinding. Edges and end papers age darkened. Occasional mild foxing and a few damp stains. Name of previous owner on front free end paper. Internally clean. Despite the weak binding a nice complete copy of the scarce first edition.

Faint damp staining and some repairs to some pages & plates. Gift inscription (‘The Right Honourable Nathanial Earl of Leitrim’s Gift to James [O’Fair?] 15th January 1826’) in ink on title page.

All dust jackets in very good condition and protected in archival jackets, except volume 4: Dust jacket of volume 4 is stuck to front and rear paste downs, so that a clear archival jacket can not be fitted. Otherwise a very nice clean set.
