Raised bands, title label and gilt decorations on spine. Blind decorations to boards. Good condition. Rubbed and bumped. Age darkened. Binding weak with front board just attached. Front and rear hinges open. Front and rear joints cracked open. Spine ends frayed. Names of two previous owners on front free end paper. Name of one previous owner in ink on title page. Internal bright and clean. An appealing copy in a frail, but nice binding.

No further library marks or stamps. Ex libris of previous owner (‘Maurice Brooks’) on front paste down of both volumes. Top of front hinge of volume 1 started to crack. Bindings sound.
