[Godfrey Richards]. Also Rules and Demonstrations, with several Designs for the Framing of any manner of Roofs either above pitch or under pitch, whether Square or Bevel, never published before. With Designs of Floors of variety of small pieces of Wood, lately made in the Pallace of the Queen Mother, at Sommerset-House; a Curiosity never practiced in England before.

Tracy, 1693. 19.5 x 15 cm. 2 Blank, Engraved Title Page, Title Page, (6) [Preface], 239 pages, 2 Blank. With 69 engraved plates of which 6 are folding, incl. the one showing the Cathedral of St. Pauls in London.. Modern half calf, over marbled paper boards. Two red morocco spine labels. Gilt decorations and titles. New end papers. Please see images. Minor shelf wear to binding. Various names of previous owners on first blank, engraved title and title pages. Edges age darkened. Minor edge wear. A few pages/plates misnumbered. Occasional very mild foxing / staining. Pages/plates 173, 185 and 231 appear to be missing. Overall a very nice copy in an attractive sturdy binding.

His Annals of Ireland from the first Conquest by the English, a great part of which is now first Published, together with a Chronological Account of the most memorable Events continued from the Reign of Queen Elizabeth to this present time. 3. His Commentaries of the Prelates of Ireland from the first Planting of Christianity there, to the year 1665: to which is now added a Continuation therof to 1704; and a Catalogue of all the Chancellors and Provosts of Trinity College, Dublin, from its Foundation; together with the present Fellows. 4. His two Books of the Writers of Ireland, wherein are many remarkable Pieces of Antiquity, much Augmented from the Author’s Original Manuscripts. 5. By way of Appendix is added that rare and Admirable Discourse of Sir John Davis, Knight, of the Cause why Ireland was no sooner reduced to the Obedience of the Crown of England. Very useful for all Persons who are desirous of being acquainted with the ancient and present Estate of that Kingdom. Now first Published in one Volume in English; and the Life of Sir James Ware prefixed.

Internally clean with some edgewear, some occasional mild foxing and age darkening. Generally a very good copy in an attractive contemporary binding.
