So begins the title story of this first collection by Irish writer Niall Quinn. Voyovic is a Yugoslav, and his mate an Irish “Guestworker”, presently in Germany. They are part of that migrant army of industrial workers who move across contemporary Europe, seemingly without identity or personality, living in the shadows of settled, affluent, urban communities.
