Contemporary half morroco over marbled boards. Marbled end papers and edges. Gilt titles and decorations on spine. Good condition. Binding rubbed and bumped. Edges age darkened. Rear free end paper of Vol.1 and front free end paper of Vol.2 missing. Some tissue guards missing. Names of previous owners neatly inscribed in ink. Internally with some browning, foxing and large visible damp stains on most pages, incl. Plates. (see images).

Illustrations: The number of Plates in the book is the same as stated under ‘Directions for the Binder’, however, there are two deviations from the list. The Plate ‘The Lake, from opposite Diodati’ (opposite page 14) is missing. One Plate belonging to Volume 2 is inserted opposite page 52 in Volume 1.
