Name of previous owner (Victor Brooke) on front free end paper. Internally clean. With a letter by Jane Mary Richardson, Alan Brooke’s first wife. The letter contains Kipling’s poem ‘If’ and her initials: J.M.R.

Victor Brooke was an older brother of Alan Francis Brooke, who served as Military Secretary to Viceroy of India, Lord Minto. He was killed early during the second world war.
