Top edge gilt, fore and bottom edge deckle. Decorated end papers. Slipcase. Very good condition. Minor shelf wear, rubbing and bumping. Edges and end papers dust dulled and mildly foxed. Dust jacket shows some edge wear and fraying, mild foxing and has long closed tear on back board. Now in archival jacket. Internally bright and clean. Signed and numbered by Peter Scott.

Peter Scott (1909 – 1989) was a British ornithologist, conservationist, painter, naval officer, broadcaster and sportsman. He worked together with Alanbrooke in various conservation societies.
Scott was knighted in 1973 for his contribution to the conservation of wild animals. He had been a founder of the World Wide Fund for Nature, founded the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (November 1946), and was an influence on international conservation. He received the WWF Gold Medal. and the J. Paul Getty Prize for his work.
