Miller, Art and Outrage: A Correspondence about Henry Miller.
Miller, Art and Outrage: A Correspondence about Henry Miller.
Miller, Henry / Perles, Alfred / Durrell, Lawrence. Art and Outrage: A Correspondence about Henry Miller. First Edition. London, Putnam, 1959. 14.5 x 22cm. Frontispiece, 63 pages. Original clothbound hardcover with dustjacket in protective archival wrapper. Boards, binding and text in very good condition. Slight signs of wear to dustjacket, including minor paper loss to corners. A collection of ten letters, Art and Outrage started out as an epistolary duet between Lawrence Durrell and Alfred Perles and turned into an epistolary triptych when Henry Miller jumped into the arena and took the floor himself. If this volume of correspondence does not solve the enigma of the character of Henry Miller, it at least sheds a strong personal light on a most human writer. [From jacket notes]
