Complete. Contemporary calf with gilt decorations and title on spine. Five raised bands. Red speckled edges. Binding very worn with material losses to spine and spine ends. Joints and hinges cracked. Small paper losses to end papers. (see images). Internally in very good condition. Occasional mild browning and small damp stains, otherwise very clean.

Names of previous owners in ink. Front free end paper and half title page a little worn with two small holes. Overall a very nice set in solid contemporary bindings.

Edges age darkened. Joints cracked, but bindings remain sound. Spine leather dried and cracked. Internally dust dulled, but generally clean. A few closed tears and some edge wear to some plates. Spine labels missing. Some joints started to crack. Some material losses to heads of spines and corners (see images). The 1779 volume has a split spine. Bindings remain sound. Internally mildly age darkened / dust dulled, occasionally foxed, otherwise clean. The 1781 volumes shows some damp and bookworm damage for the last 20 pages or so, not affecting readability. No annotations, library stamps etc. Eight clean copies. Excellent reading copies or candidates for rebinding.
