Each volume is accompanied by a letter from Collins publishers to Field Marshal Alanbrooke. One volume also contains a flyer by the Danish publishers about the book. Original stiff paperboards in original decorated dust jacket, now in archival jackets. All edges deckle. Good condition. Minor shelf wear, rubbing and bumping. Mostly unopened. First and last pages of both volumes are damp stained.

In original dust jacket, glassine wrapper and a small paper band around dust jacket. Now in protective archival jacket. Good condition. Binding damp stained and discoloured. Edges and end papers dust dulled and partly browned. With a gift inscription: ‘To Brookie with Love from [Buster?] 1960. This may complete your collection – it is perhaps fitting that its the German edition.’ Dust jacket age darkened and rubbed. Small paper losses to glassine wrapper. Internally clean.
