Engraved Frontispiece and engraved Title Page (J. Newton), vi, pages 7 – 118 [page 118 with engraving which is labelled Plate 49], xviii [Description of Plates], (2) [Addenda]. 48 numbered Plates [Plate 31 is bound upside down], Plate 50 acts as Frontispiece for Title Page of Supplement of 1789. 10 pages [Description], Plates numbered 52 to 62. (4) [Blank]. Contemporary full brown calf with gilt decorations and dentelles. Gilt titles on black and green spine labels. Marbelled end papers. Very good condition. Binding rubbed and bumped. Previously rebacked. Rear board disconnected. Otherwise tight binding. Lacking the second plate of the ‘Supplement’ (Plate 51), otherwise complete. Mildly age darkened and foxed. A very nice clean copy.

Colonel Sir Thomas Courtenay Theydon Warner, 1st Baronet (1857 – 1934) was a British politician, who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for North Somerset from 1892 to 1895, and for Lichfield from 1896 to 1923. Warner was an officer in the 3rd (Militia) Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, where he became major on 13 January 1902. He received the honorary rank of lieutenant-colonel 1902, and later served as lieutenant-colonel in command and honorary colonel of the battalion. He received the CB 1909, and was made a baronet on 9 July 1910, of Brettenham Park, Suffolk.
